Remind Me Again
Turned lifeless and dull as these memories fade
Opaqueness invading what once was so clear
Come, tell me again what I'm longing to hear
Remind me what red is and what it foretells
"It indicates danger and anger as well.
Red runs through our veins; it's the color that bleeds.
It colors our hearts and our passionate deeds."
And what about blue? What does that color mean?
"It's loyalty, honesty, calmness; serene.
It colors the sky, the sea, and one's trust.
And sometimes it paints sadness, too: it's a must."
I'm feeling elated with all that you say
So, tell me some more; I think we've got all day
I'm curious of yellow and what it might spell
Enlighten me further; you're doing so well
"The yellows are cheerful and bring such delight;
They introduce happiness, joy, and insights.
These hues spell out sunshine, and laughter, and mirth
But also the shade of a coward's true worth."
I see what you're saying; each color adds life
Without them, it seems, we've got humdrum and strife
Let's move on to green and the sense that it brings
You words give me flight; your descriptions are wings
"Well, green equals life, and abundance thereof.
It colors the foliage, the mountains above.
It bathes us in peace in the meadows and trees,
Green soothes and relaxes; it puts us at ease."
I feel I should ask one more thing for today
Before we conclude, I would like you to say
A few things of brown, of what that color speaks
I can't leave that for your visit next week
"That's no problem, grandpa. I love doing this.
Explaining these colors to you is a bliss.
I hope you recall that my favorite is brown;
It pretty much colors the oft-trodden ground."
"I have come to know that brown stands for the meek,
The humble, the lowly of character peaks.
It colors the simple, the friendly, the strong.
At times, though, gets boring, but stays on for long."
Ah, thank you, my boy; you have sated my quest
You bring vibrant life to my color requests
Remind me again when in seven days time
I've lost every sense of reason and rhyme
"I'll be here, as always; with colors to share,
And give back to you all the times that you cared
To regale a six-year-old's color exam,
It helped to make me the man that I am."
Beautiful! 😍💯
